Asteroids are a common sight in the Aether, be it in asteroid belts or lone rocks wandering through the void. The entrepid colonisers of the Solarians and the League saw them as both a resource, and a home. Eventually, asteroid dwellers started linking to each other via rickety bridges, until eventually large asteroid towns were formed.

Such floating settlements are becoming a common sight, oftentimes with tight knit communities and a fierce sense of pride from having cobbled together a living in the Aetherium. They are centres of trade and commerce, and those in aether rich nebulae set up vast sail stations to collect and export them as fuel.
